Let’s face it, if you own a 60GB Video iPod priced at $399, you’re going to love it like a baby, and dressing up your iPod is one way of showing your iPod love to the world. iAttire has nice costumes for you iPod, iPod Video, iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle. My personal favorite, as you might be able to tell, is the cowboy costume, which comes complete with a hat, fringed chaps, a checked kerchief and even a lasso. The cowboy costume will set you back $39.99, but it’s well worth it if it makes your iPod look cooler than most other iPods.

Why settle for the medium range potable media players-cum-navigational devices like this one from Korea with a 4.3-inch screen or this one that can actually get TV in Europe and America with a DVB-H tuner and Sat Nav functionality and a similar 4.3-inch screen. Panasonic offers a delicious 8-inch screen LCD TV under its “Strada” line made specifically for cars and they are also selling tuners to go with it, although the TR-M80WVS7 also works with a Panasonic phone with a a 1-Seg tuner available from DoCoMo. The wide 8-inch screen is not the best thing about the TR-M80WVS7. The Strada TV screen has a DVD-like 800 x 480 pixels. But, then again, The MyWi T10 from Hyon in Korea already offers the same 800 x 480 pixels on a slightly smaller 7-inch screen and still counts itself among the GPS/ PMP devices.

Hello to all readers,
Just a minor site announcement, we have updated our RSS feeds so all of them are going through FeedBurner. If you have previously added our old feed address it will keep working, but we’d like to encourage people to update to the new feed address: http://feeds.feedburner.com/pmptoday/ENUb
The links on the sidebar have also been updated so you can add PMP Today feed to your Google and Yahoo personal pages, or whichever software you use to read the feeds. Personally I would suggest the nice and simple FeedReader3. It’s fast and very easy to use if you want updated from your system tray.
In other news, we have some more PMP related sections in the works, which should be going into beta pretty soon here. And once again if you see some portable media related news that you think we would find interesting use our Submit News form and we’ll make sure we check it out.

Aigo is one of the bigger companies in China that participates in pretty much every tech market out there: monitors, computers, network cards, gps, speakers and of course MP3 and MP4 players. So here are a couple of portable video players that are in the works now, and will bring up the Aigo’s PMP line to an even dozen of different units.
These particular players are targeting a younger audience with F989 going for the boys and MP-E817 for the girls.
Aigo F989 has a 2.4″ QVGA Screen, plays SFW and AVI at 30 frames/sec, and has a built-in 1.3MP camera. Some of the other features are: FM radio, MIC, e-book reader, photo browsing, clock, calendar, stopwatch, calculator, and 10 pre-loaded games.
Check out more cute pictures and what the girls get after the break…

The Fujitsu Siemens Pocket LOOX N100 is a hybrid portable GPS and PMP device that has a striking resemblance to the Taiwanese Mio DigiWalker with perhaps the slightly more streamlined design going the Japanese way. The 2.8-inch touchscreen interface is also .1 inches wider than the H610. The Pocket Loox’s 89 x 51 x 15 mm form factor also gives it a slight advantage over the very pocketable 87 x 60 x 22 mm of the H610. Pocket Loox has a suggested price of $499, which puts it at the same range as the H610. But, and this may be a first in the history of technology, the Japanese Pocket Loox got a bad rating from CNET for being sluggish and for the overall bad performance of its GPS.
