Italian mobile operator 3 is taking mobile TV to the next step. Though DVB-H has been available in Italy through 3 since last year, its the first time a standalone hardware for mobile TV viewing has been made available to the Italian public. In collaboration with Quantum, makers of QTM 1000 pmp with GPS, 3 will enjoy a monopoly on Italian mobile TV viewers. Twelve channels will be viewable in the QTM 1000, including RAI, Mediaset, Sky, La3 Live and Sport La3. The QTM 1000 records up to five minutes worth of TV while you’re answering a phone call so you’re not likely to miss anything.
