Meizu M8 “miniOne” Report at CeBIT

Meizu’s M8 or miniOne is a no-show at CeBIT in Hanover, Germany, but one of Meizu’s people revealed something quite curious about the supposed iPhone rival. Apparently, due to a couple of persistent Engadget bloggers, Meizu CEO Jack Wong and Mr. Young Su, Cho, a Meizu designer, let slip that MiniOne will soon be released for European and North American consumers. But here is the suprising bit: the M8 will not have calling capabilities and will simply be a video and audio player. It won’t even have a camera (undoubtedly steering as far away as possible from an Apple lawsuit). It will play at 30fps on a 720 x 480 resolution screen. The M8 video/audio player will be priced at $195 for the 4GB version and $305 for the 8GB.

Why would anyone buy one if its just a media player when theres the ipod touch? Does the same thing, and more, with 16gb memory and its cheaper.
