Koreans have been enjoying the Maxian M800 since last year and a U.S. release remain a tentative thing. What’s so special about this PMP. For starters, it implements metal in the design. It definitely has that classy, expensive look that platic material could never achieve. Another thing is that the Maxian is not one of those MP3/PMP devices. From its features you can see that being a portable video player is its mane raison d’etre, although it can play audio files as well, i.e. MP3, AC3, WMA, BSAC, AAC+. But the host of video format support on the M800 makes its nature obvious: AVI, MPG, ASF, WMV, DAT, VOB MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 SP, WMV9 (640 x 282), H.264 (CIF), DivX3.1/4.xx/5.xx, XviD. Maximum resolution on its 4.3-inch WVGA display is a dazzling 720 x 480 resolution at 16.7 million colors and plays videos at 30 fps. It also record video and music as well as songs from FM station and you can even use this as a video recorder. Price outside Korea is between $500-$700, and hopefully it will be on the lower end when it comes to the U.S.
