This is a hands-on video of the Haier/AOL is a WiFi enabled 30GB true iPod Video rival with a sexy QVGA screen playing MPEG-4, AVI, WMV 7/8/9 and H.264 for video; PlaysForSure WMA files, AACPlus, AACPlus Enhanced, WAV, and MP3 for audio. Also equipped with A2DP Bluetooth headphones and a lot of other iPOd-killing specs like Linux OS and OTA downloading. We’ve seen the pictures of the impressive metal casing, now here’s a video from where else but anythingbutipod. The video doesn’t have audio but it’s obvious how easy-to-use the menu is, and the touchpad looks like the perfect replacement for the click wheel, and the GUI (graphic user interface is the interaction of the device with your PC) is simple, lag free and allows for easy user control. The only disappointment is the WiFi, which is currently only for downloads. [Oops, correct that. If you take another look at the photos of the Haier WiFi we posted here a few days back, it's obvious the device has Internet Browsing too. Thanks to our reader Jakep_82, who made the enlightening comment]

Have you seen the pictures from CTIA that were posted on here just a week ago? This video was made in January at CES. They’ve since added a menu option called “Internet Browser”. Sounds to me like the wifi will do more than just downloads.

    Good catch jakep_82

It looks like this one is shaping up to be a pretty decent player with a nice feature list.

I’m not sure if they can browse much without a keypad.

Yeah, it’s looking to me like potentially the best player on the market. The only question marks are battery life and sound quality. Regardless, I plan on buying one the day it’s released simply because of all the features.
