TV-maker Epoq has two mini-PMPs on sale, one with 2.2-inch screen and touch-sensitive keys and the other with a 2.4-inch display. Both devices are the size of a matchbook or 66.6 x 50.3 x 11mm and play both video and music. Screens are a scratch-resistant 320 × 240 LCD and with its RockChip processor it can play AVI video files at 25fps. Memory is a choice between 1 or 2GB internal Flash memory, expandable through a miniSD card slot. There’s a built-in FM radio with 40 preset channels, a voice recorder, image and e-Book reader. Other supported file formats: mp1, mp2, mp3, wma, jpg, bmp and txt. Both devices have upgradeable firmware. A headphone, USB cable, CD driver and AC charger, as well as a one-year warranty comes with your purchase. Only the 2.4-inch player is on sale today at $100 for the 1GB and $126 for the 2GB.

What more can be said about the latest PMP on the block. It’s cute, it’s playable and it’s cheap, a safe start for Epoq in the portable market.
