Sony DVP-FX850 Portable DVD player: a PMP Shaped Like a Laptop

The DVP-FX850 from Sony measures and weights 226 × 165 × 32mm and weighs 1.05 kg, which, strictly speaking, is still within portable territory (as in you can carry it). Screen is 8 inches at 800 x 480 pixel resolution, one inch bigger than the Shinco and presumably a lot more crisp. It’s set up like a laptop monitor that rotates to 180 degrees. It plays DVD±R/RW and DVD±R DL discs and Audio CD’s. The built-in USB connects to media player and Pen drives for MP3 and JPEG files. Other specs include: a remote control (wow!), built-in speaker, headphone jack and TV out (what for, with the screen at already 8 inches?). This comes out in Japan in May 1 and will sell for 35,000 Yen or around $ 300 USD.
