Yahoo! SanDisk Sansa Connect Announced… the YPod

The SanDisk Sansa Connect is WiFi enabled, comes with Yahoo! Music and costs either 249 or 250.  For portable video fans, unfortunately this is a music-centric device but it has a huge amount of streaming possibilities. It already comes bundled with Yahoo! Music Unlimited and for the very fair price of $12 a month, you can download all the music that your 4GB internal memory could pack in - also, you could always unload it in your PC whenever it gets full. Honestly, Slacker offers both a cheaper player and monthly subscription.

The SanDisk Sansa Connect or the YPod, whichever you want to call it, has a 2.2-inch TFT color screen, microSD expansion slot and USB port. It’s also a great device for photo-sharing. Additionally, you get the following features that you won’t find in a Zune or an iPod.

- LAUNCHcast radio (stream music your own way)

- $12/month Unlimited Wifi download from Yahoo! Music Unlimited

- Dynamically updated “mix lists”

- Music sharing via Yahoo! Messenger

- Photos from Flickr

Slacker does not offer a cheaper player. Visit their site, and you’ll see that their player is still vaporware. The Sansa Connect is in the market today. We’ll see how much the portable subscription is once they actually offer one.
