Global PMP sales will likely reach 117 million units this year and is predicted to be in the area of 162 million units in 2009. The reasons for the growth put forward are in the lowering and market acceptability of current PMP prices and the breakthrough from single-function models to multi-functional ones. Content integration is also seen as one key factor in attracting more buyers. As an example Chinese PMP manufacturer Hangzhou-based IPED Digital Technology Co., Ltd is providing downloads of films, MTV, games and so on its website.
