Wi-Fi iPod in second half of 2007?

iPod Wi-Fi

Guys at DigiTimes are picking up some chatter among component makers saying that USI and Foxconn are stepping in to act as Wi-Fi module producer and OEM system assembler, respectively. The Wi-Fi module shipments from USI might come out as soon as April and in the 3rd quarter Foxconn might start delivering the assembled goodies.

Also folks at AppleInsider are saying that this sort of news kind of goes along with their info on the upcoming line of players from Apple. Even though we are told that a “true video iPod” that many crave is still some time away, we’d like to be surprised.
