Clarion’s MAX9700DT will set back the Japanese buyer 341,250 Yen or around $2850 in U.S. money. For this price, one expects only the best features, and we’ll begin with the 7-inch touch-sensitive LCD screen and a 40GB hard disk drive. They call it an infotainment system. It’s a GPS system with 3D display and can navigate using digital TV channels. Besides that, it’s got an enormous amount of entertainment options: 1-seg TV tuner, digital tuner for watching free digital TV, a DVD player (ATRAC, WMA and MP3), and the screen also syncs with any iPod using an appropriate cable. There’s an SD a memory stick and even a MiniDisc for more memory storage. This “infotainment system” doesn’t tune in to FM, it receives AM as well.
