The Future of the Nokia N95 is the N82
11 05 2007
Images and specs of two new smart phones from Nokia have been leaked. The N81 is the natural successor of the N71 music phone from Nokia’s Nseries. Like the N71, the N81 has 3G and WiFi connectivity a 2 megapixel camera and 8GB of internal storage. But what really interests us here is the WiFi, 3G and HSDPA-enabled N82. The N82 carries the powerful 5 megapixel Carl Zeiss optics with flash camera found also in the N95 although the N95 makes use of a LED flash which is weaker than the N82’s Xenon flash. The N82 also has GPS, if you believe it. Didn’t Nokia promise it’ll have all of its future phones equipped with GPS? The N82 will also be equipped with TV-out. The screen is pretty impressive: 2.4-inch QVGA 240×320 with 16M colors and form factor is a very compact 112 x 50.2 x 17.3 mm. It doesn’t have the N95’s exciting sliding mechanism but it makes up for it by being less intimidating to non-geek consumers who, nevertheless, need the hi-tech features such as GPS and HSDPA.
