
Moto tried to hype up its May 15 event by leaking a rumor about a video phone. Mobile Experience turned out to be one big disappointment with quite a few talking bits for the water cooler. To save you the trouble, Moto’s upcoming video phone is the MotoZ8, also called the RIZR Z8. The Z8 is a “fit-to-face” banana-shaped phone with HSDPA wireless broadband connectivity and integrated mobile TV serviced by Sky. Motorola’s tagline for the Z8 seems to be this: “Mobile video — the switch of power from the media owners to the media users. The MOTOZ8.” It plays videos at 30fps, all right, and has a 16million color screen. The real question is, when we heard about Motorola video, what were we really expecting?
