Announcements, New Products

We’ve been waiting for Sandisk’s Sansa View 4-inch PMP ever since Charbax spotted at CeBIT. The Sansa View is going to come out first in the US market before it begins to conquer the world. Then March came and went, then April, May… First day of June, Engadget receives word from a SanDisk representative and it is bad news. According to the rep, “the market is changing fast and furious and we want to shift our efforts to develop a PMP that will meet the needs of the market versus pushing out the wrong product. So we’re taking another look.”

Now we don’t blame SanDisk for thinking things over before plunging into a market saturated by touchscreen players and covergeance devices that could rival the most advanced cellphone in the market or yet to be announced. Especially after the Sansa Connect was made available to the public, SanDisk will want to maintain its reputation as a manufacturer on the cutting edge.

Update: It looks like the release date has been moved to Q1 2008.
