Blue Raven’s new PMP has a 7-inch WVGA 480 x 234 screen with 16.7 million colors, houses up to 80GB of storage for the in a 202 x 116 x 26.5mm body that weighs 598g. It’s a tough haul, but besides being a PMP it’s also a digital video recorder. The closest comparison in size and functionality would be the Archos 704, which besides being a touch-controlled portable media player with better screen resolution, it can also browse the web via Wi-Fi. The MediaMate is less pricier than the 704 at $430 for the 80GB compared to$717 for the 40GB 704. The MediaMate is equipped with line out, speaker and stereo earphones.
