Portable media players are becoming more like cell phones. The most recent trend is the addition of a camera function in audio/visual players. The Chinese are going at it strong with this from Newman and the MV300 from Zarva and, knowing the Chinese, a host of others we haven’t covered. Now it’s the turn of the French. Neonumeric came out with latest upgrade on the NM series of portable media players not long ago and now it’s dropping the NPMP F1 to the young PMP-Camera market. The F1 boast a 2.4-inch QVGA screen with 262k colors. It plays AVI (320×240) and AVI, WMV, MPEG, MPG, MOV. It plays the most popular audio formats MP3, WMA, WAV and stores/views JPG, BMP, GIF, PNG. The built-in 2 megapixel camera does not only take pictures it’s a video camera and a webcam.
