Venus JXD951 PMP Gets Specs and Price

The Venus JXD951, which we noticed being displayed on a Chinese website a month ago and we just couldn’t resist the choice of promotional materiel (with amo included). The JXD951 boasts a 4-inch 720 × 480-pixel TFT screen with 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. It is equipped with a 2 megapixel camera, microSD extension and an FM tuner. It plays video at 30fps and compatible with with DivX, XviD AVI, ASF video, MPEG-4 and Flash Player. It has audio compatibility with MP3, WMA and WAV. Form factor is 118 × 73 × 13.3mm, weighing 95 g. Price is 859 yuan ($113) for the 1GB player and 899 yuan ($118) for the 2GB.

I purchased one of these players. Overall it’s pretty good. Sometime I notice a little blurring when watching videos.
The pictures look horrible on the LCD display but are actually pretty nice when viewed on a computer or printed out.
The biggest problem is that the fast forward button is actually programed for reverse. I tried to contact the company for a firmware update but no response yet (2 emails so far).
