Apple, Phone

The iPhone uses a 3.5mm headphone jack that you’d find in an iPod but unlike in iPods, the iPhone jack is recessed and many 3.5mm headphones can’t fit in. Engadget has been testing headphone brand after headphone brand to see if they work with iPhone. The irony of it is, beside iPod headphones and Etymotic ER6i, the only other headset that was compatible with the iPhone was the Zune’s. If you want your favorite headphone to use with the iPhone you must purchase a $9.95 Belkin adapter from Apple Store, unless of course your favorite headphone is from your Zune player. Whether or not a Zune headset will actually be seen plugged into an iPhone on the street, we’ll keep you updated.

For other iPhone accessories, iLounge has a pretty comprehensive review of what’s available out there.
