Mexican financial website Sentido Comun has tapped Mexican Tycoon Carlos Slim as the world’s current richest man. This has also been reported by other sources, pointing out that Slim’s business interests has been steadily rising in value to push the Mexican ahead of Warren Buffet three months ago. Now thanks largely to the performance of Slim’s American Movil group of companies, Slim has surpassed the Microsoft owner with an estimated net worth of $67 billion. Gates’ net worth has been estimated to be around the $56 billion area. Now if you’re thinking that Gates lost his number one position because of the poor sales of Vista and, to an extent, Zune you might also want to take into account Bill’s philantrophic works which currently amounts to $29 billion.
