I don’t know which version of iPhone Apple’s new patent filing is, but I sure hope Apple puts some distance between iPhone first-gen and this click wheel phone with what looks like a rotary dialing interface. The illustration tells the story. With the click wheel as your main navigational control, you may not be able to do the finer things like typing a Web address or maybe even texting. Well, maybe some texting will still be possible. The numeric keypad after all was a crude instrument that texters learned to harness on their way to their conquest of the wireless age.
