COWON, Gadget Review, iRiver

We like long and leisurely reviews of PMPs and mini-PMPs from other blogs. The blog iAudiophile, just did one on the COWON D2. COWON’s mini-PMP is one of the most popular PMPs in its size category, and Martin Plappert of iAudiophile correctly notes that D2 is neck to neck with iRiver’s Clix 2 in terms of popularity among consumers. The D2 has a 2.5-inch, 16 million color, 24-bit QVGA TFT touchscreen, measures 78.0 X 55.4 X 16.6 mm and plays 10 hours of video. Plappert gives us a pretty detailed and comprehensive review of the D2, i.e. a feature by feature testing. For example, he observed that “It isn’t a full time PMP like the A2 though, because all videos have to be converted first using jetAudio vX and then transferred to the player.” He also includes bright, high-rez photos for an enjoyable read. Check out the rest.
