That’s what it’s unnamed Chinese manufacturer is calling this game emulator-PMP. “Portable Media Player” has been available online a few days and has received nothing less than stellar reviews. P.M.P. is a video and audio player, compatible with AVI, MPEG-4, DIVX, XVID, MP3, WMA, FLAC. As a game emulator, it supports NES, SNES & SEGA MD/SMS. Thrown in for good measure is a 1.3 megapixel camera. Now, one could say the Chinese has been leading the way in the convergence sector but that will be an incomplete statement, because with all the functionality and entertainment value P.M.P. offers, the cost to the consumer ($109) is absolutely “charitable,” in which case a more distinctive name for this player is symbolized by the mahjong piece below.
