China’s Quanstar Development Ltd. is offering the PMP-600. You guessed right, it’s another portable media player from one of the country’s myriad companies.
This device rocks a 2-inch TFT display with 262,000 colors and a resolution of 176×220. It comes with a miniSD slot, and may not actually have built-in memory (at least, they didn’t mention any). The PMP-600 also has a 3MP camera that allows video recording (shades of the Meizu miniOne).
Supported file formats are MP3/4, 3GP, AMR, JPEG and TXT. It measures 87×54x15mm and weighs 72g. It’s also RoHS-compliant, if that matters. The real interest of this PMP is not yet known. We at PMP Today are betting this one will be priced at under $120. We’ve messaged the manufacturer and we expect to be hearing from them this week. Any takers?
