Creative’s Vision W is a slightly cheaper alternative to iPod video and a truer portable video player with a 4.3-inch screen. Creative’s newest PMP is bulkier than the iPod and maxes out at 60GB of storage compared to 80GB of the iPod 5G. But what if someone told you increasing W’s storage capacity to 100GB is possible? The HD of choice is a 100GB Toshiba MK1011GAH. The process is simple for those used to opening up hi-tech devices and pretty doable if you’re not the geeky type. I’m assuming each step has to be followed precisely and chronologically (i.e. don’t insert the new drive before you have backed up your files).
Warning: the resulting 100GB-capacity PMP will cost you almost $600.
