Nokia Music Store to Take on iTunes
27 07 2007
Apple ventured to its territory with the iPhone, so why can’t Nokia, the world’s leading handset maker venture into Apple’s territory? The new Nokia music service will be launched in London August 29 directly competing with iTunes. The site will offer more than a million songs for starters (iTunes began with 200,000). Nokia won’t offer a better online store, which could include WiFi downloads directly to your Nokia handset. You download music from the site into your PC then sync it with your phone, MP3s or PMPs and other devices that play music, just like iTunes. Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo will be there at London to launch the site with some live music at the Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo. Non-Nokia devices could play the music from Nokia’s site with DRM.
