Sophia Nani has been launched in Japan, and, officially, it’s a Windows CE 6 device with PDA functionalities to die for, powered by an RMI Alchemy Au1250 Media Processor 600MHz CPU. That’s 600MHz of crazy computing power. We’ve seen the rusty orange and the white version, and I must say the official launch press photos are showing a delectable eggshell white PDA phone that doesn’t remind you any way of the iPhone (there’s also a blue version if you read on). We told you before our opinion about the Sophia Nani being labeled an iPhone killer, which we completely disagree with. This PDA is a complete PMP with MPEG, Divx, Xvid, MP3, WAV, WMA and Ogg Vorbis support. It’s special from all other devices we’ve seen here in the States and in Europe for its W-SIM, a super SIM with receiver and transmitter built-in. It’s also WiFi connected, of course, and a GPS navigator. More photos after the break.

[...] It’s not too often that we find a fairly well-spec’d all-in-one gizmo humming along on Windows CE 6, but apparently, Sophia Mobile’s nani is one such device. According to “official specifications” just released, this PDA phone will also feature a 600MHz processor, 4.3-inch 800 x 400 resolution display, a potent media player that can handle MPEG1/2/3/4, DivX, XviD, WMA, WAV, and OGG formats, an image viewer, GPS, WiFi, a microSD expansion slot, USB connectivity, and support for PHS (W-SIM) in Japan. Moreover, it looks like a lucky soul managed to get a bit of hands-on time with the machine, so be sure and check out a few more angles after the break. [Via PMPToday] [...]
