Taiwanese PMP/MP3 manufacturer X-Micro has done well with its VDO F610, a 1.5-inch OLED MP4 player that we reported last March. You could find a non-biased review of the mini-PMP here. The VDO F610, however, isn’t the only X-Micro player worthy of our attention. Going to X-Micro’s website, we’ve found a couple other players that we’d like to introduce to our readers if only briefly, after the break.

The VDO F510 measures 41 x 73 x 12 mm and has a 1.8-inch 128 x 160-pixel TFT screen with MP4 video playback. WMA and MP3 files are also supported with voice-recording functionality via ADPMC encoding. There’s an FM tuner with an FM recorder, ID3, USB port with models available in 512MB, 1GB, 2GB and 4GB.

The X-Micro Video MP3 Player needs a real name. It’s exotic shape shouldn’t distract you from the fun media functionality this device is capable of. Wear it on your chest as a pendant or put it in your pocket with a chain like a watch, this device plays music videos in the MPX format of Karaoke machines, WMA and MP3 with more support for ideo convert software support format: WMV, MPG, MPEG and AVI after conversion. This one has ID3 tagging as well. Other specs: E-Book, photo viewer, FM tuner, USB port. Available in 256MB, 512MB, 1GB versions.
Though the rest in X-Micro’s are too boxy for us, you’re welcome to take a look for yourself. These players are also priced very cheaply with the VDO F610 going for $61 and the others around the same price range.
