HiFiMax, which focuses on in-dash entertainment systems, has released the GPS 3505. Aside from navigation functionality, it’ll display WMA, WAV, WMV, ASF, MP4, JPG, TXT and BMP files on its 3.5-inch, 320×240 pixel touchscreen. Oh, it’ll do audio guidance as well. It also has an SD slot that can handle up to 2Gb cards.
The model has maps for the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Australia, South Africa, Mexico, Russia, Singapore, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, North America and Mexico.
Spec-wise, it is equipped with a 400MHz Samsung 2440 processor, SiRF Star III GPS chip, 64MB of SD RAM and 64MB of Flash ROM, and uses the Windows CE NET 4.2 OS.

You seem to have read the pressrelease, but is audio guidance as in Tom Tom voice files, guidance as in overinsistence on turning in 10′ segments, or possibly RIGHT TURN ONLY!?
Moreover you forgot to explain the heat rating of the device; is there a hard drive mount low in the dash or just 2GiB of flash total, ever? (Not a lot of .mp4, but enough at its own resolution for quite a bit; still, it’s a gadget and should just play a 400MB live-action show without extra video post. Which it can’t. It’s underspecced to play even native resolution video .mp4s (unless they somehow neglected to mention the nForce6700GTS attached to that cpu.))
Oh and China? Can we talk about your fielding a nice embedded FOSS/Trolltech-license OS and VM API? I know you do MMO VEs, but this goes way beyond bobbleheads whacking the unpatriotic orcs.

The built in proximity alert system lets you set alarms when you get close to these areas. That allows you to avoid the headaches that might come from traffic or speeding through a school zone….
