Possibly the oddest device we’ve featured, Newman’s wonder gadget hits you like a U.F.O sighting. But believe it or not, this is a serious bid for a niche in the world’s portable player market for the Chinese manufacturer. Beginning with the design, Newman’s Mini All VX1000 has been breaking one gadget taboo after another: a PMP, PDA, VoIP phone, instant messenger and game emulator all in one device running Windows CE!

The fact that it actually works is a wonder in itself, which makes announcing the price that much more of a piece with the aforementioned alien encounter. This baby goes for only 1999 yuan. To translate into US dollars: $264 or about half the price of a 4GB iPhone. With the money you get a 4-inch 480 x 272-pixel TFT touchscreen (with stylus input) and support for 3GP, DIVX, h.264, AVI, WMV, ASF, MP3, WMA, OGG, WMA, APE, ASF, WAV, JPEG, BMP, GIF, TXT, DOC, XLS, PDF, PPT and PPS. Mic recording, FM radio and USB-on-the-go also supported. It also supports 3D and Flash game, besides NES. It’s not a perfect portable media machine by any means. There’s no stereo Bluetooth and TV out and the external speakers do not inspire confidence. But see for yourself as we have posted a number of photos of the MINI ALL after the break.
