Tsinghua Tongfang PMC-V800: HDTV Player With FLV Support

Chinese PMPs are stretching their horizons in video playing. You can stop calling these devices MP4 players. Chinese PMPs have supported RealMedia when few portable players in the West bothered with the format. Chinese PMPs have also begun supporting HDTV, cranking up widescreen PMPs to suit the demands of a more sophisticated consumer base. The most recent trend in Flash video or FLV support. Tsinghua Tongfang, a Chinese manufacturer that deserves a really cool English name, intros its new PMC-V800, which plays MP4, AVI, HDTV videos, MP3, WMA and WAV music files as well as support SWF and Flash animation. The 2.4-inch screen has 260k colors, which doesn’t sound like much but the V800 is already Microsoft Vista compatible, syncing with your PC running Vista via USB 2.0. With that said, the V800 also has USB OTG (on-the-go), which clearly is one of the newer fads among Chinese PMPs.
