Mocha Nokia N95 U.S. 3G: Thin-Skinned and Shutterless
13 08 2007
Wonder how they can get an upgraded and, hence, bigger battery inside the Nokia N95? Well, first, they removed the circular camera shutter, which now leaves a rather sunken 5 megapixel camera looking like a bug’s eye, then they did something that would just make your heart skip a beat. Remember how many critics complain about putting all that advanced technology inside the flimsy protection that is its plastic casing? Now it’s even thinner. There’s another “improvement” on the U.S. version that had nothing to do with the battery. The media keys now have slight bumps for a better tactile response no doubt. What can I say, I don’t like how the camera looks and the fact that the casing is thinner. But what can you do, the trade-off is a better battery life, which no one should complain about. The media keys and the shot of the back after the break.

Umm… I don’t get it US 3G, don’t we already have a US N95, or it was just the European version but not 3G. I still not clear the to me the order and reason for it all…
But besides that; Ok, why did the get rid of the optic lens closure, I kinda liked it. No dust finger prints and oil smug when you whip it out and take a snap shot. Sooo… What will the N95 8GB ME be??? 3G as well?

Nijinsky,
I like the optic lens shutter too. Without it, the Nokia N95 looks awful.
About the US 3G version. The original Nokia had 3G but it won’t operate on US bandwidths. This time it will.
