Unlocked SIM-Free iPhones Sold in Hong Kong
16 08 2007
A Hong Kong retailer is selling iPhones without an AT&T subscription. The store-front advertisment says you can use any wireless provider you want. If you have one now, just transfer your SIM to the iPhone (how, we’re not entirely sure yet) and off you go. The retailer is located in Wan Chai, which is bounded by Canal Road, Bowen Road and Arsenal Street. I don’t know if Wanchai Computer Centre is the exact retailer (although that looks like one of the smaller shops in the picture), but if you’re in Wan Chai and buying electronics. WCC is the place to go. I recommend the tea shops. They are nice quiet places to eat your off-hour lunch. A photo of the storefront after the break.
Update: Looks like AT&T phones will come with a hefty price. The HK ones are going for $1200. Click this link for the original scoop.
