Apple has made the rumored fat iPod Nano official, and it’s really, really phat. Apple designers are so amazing. They widened the Nano and slimmed it down so that you get to enjoy a 2-inch widescreen (way more than acceptable for the mini-PMP market). The 2 inches is QVGA-grade and is supposed to be the most pixel per inch Apple has ever produced. The UI will benefit from Cover Flow, and this iPod Nano will offer some portable gaming as well. Battery life is pretty good as well with 5 hours of video playback and 24 hours of audio. It’s $149 for the 4GB and $199 for the 8GB. Insanely cheap for an Apple product and makes one wonder if Apple isn’t also targeting the biggest MP3/PMP market in the world.
Update: the new iPod Nanos will already be in stores this weekend!
