Zarva MV-208 DV Hands-On and Details

The Zarva MV-208 PMP has finally arrived in stores, oblivious of the new iPod Nano, Apple’s relatively low-priced PMP. Okay, it’s not as pretty as the press photos. It actually looks like the ugly little sister of the MV-209. The MV-208 functions as a DV and portable gamer like the MV-209 and views videos upright and in landscape mode. If the 2.0 megapixel onboard camera on the MV-208 is similar to the found on the MV-209, as we can only assume, it will provide decent image capture for the PMP user. On that note, there not much that is different between the 209 and the 208: 2.8-inch (320 × 240) high-definition screen with 16 million colors, microSD, mic, audio recording. The MV-208 supports MPEG4 AVI and MP3, WMA (theoretically also Lossless APE, FLAC). Supports JPEG and TXT. The camera takes photos and videos with higher pixel count (1,280 x 960 pixels, 640 x 480 pixels) even though the screen doesn’t support it.

The MV-208 is pricier, the 2GB selling for 699 yuan ($93)
