VDO Dayton announced the PN 4000 and PN 6000 models at the IAA International Motor Show in Frankfurt. These portable navigation devices, which also play audio and video files (formats unspecified), display high-resolution maps in 2D or 3D. A DVB-T receiver, which ensures reception even at 160kph, is standard. Aside from portable TV, it supports screen text, subtitles and the program listing for the next four days.

The devices have touchscreen displays, which measure 4.3 inches for the PN 4000 and 5.3 inches for the PM 6000. These screens are also equipped with built-in brightness sensors and a nominal 16:9 aspect ratio. TV playback, however, is available in both 16:9 and 4:3 modes. Both units also have an SD slot built-in.

Options include an RDS/TMC receiver for live traffic updates, and a Bluetooth module that allows the device to be used as a hands-free system for mobile phones.
