For people who’ve been guessing the 3G version of the iPhone to come out late this year, perhaps in Europe first, will not be thrilled by this report from The Street. An iPhone with 3G connectivity will not be out anywhere in the world until Q1 2008. The information came from reliable sources who are intimate with Apple’s production plans for the iPhone. Wonderful news, however, will go with this long delay for 3G connectivity on Apple’s phone. Broadcom might be supplying iPhone with GPS chips, specifically A-GPS (assisted GPS) chips from Global Locate, a newly acquired subsidiary by Broadcom.
