iPod Nano 3G in COWON Country
19 09 2007COWON has been Korea’s pride in the PMP market and with the entry of the new iPod Nano (with video) in the country, COWON’s flagship mini-PMP, COWON D2, will be facing its stiffest competition yet. The COWON D2 boasts a 2.5-inch screen, which is half an inch bigger than the iPod Nano, Apple’s new PMP will enter the Korean market at the low price of 165,000 KRW for 4GB and 225,000 KRW for 8GB. In comparison, the new 8GB COWON D2 is introduced with an MSRP of 329,000 KRW. Besides the line-in and FM tuner of the D2 that are absent in the iPod Nano, new market research shows that price and screen resolution are two features most important to PMP buyers. Both players boast QVGA (320×240) video resolution with iPod winning on the price point and the D2 having that half-inch advantage on screen size.
