China Company Equips PMP With G-Sensor, Doesn’t say why
21 09 2007
The flash memory-based D887-1 from Shenzhen Thomson (which might be this Thomson) is equipped with a G-Sensor (a.k.a. motion sensor), which is commonly used in HDDs to minimize damage in case of a drop. We’re not quite sure what it does in this product, but it could possibly be a form of motion-control similar to the feature found on Teclast’s C290.
That aside, the D887-1 plays MP3, WMA, WAV, FLAC and APE audio files, supports AVI and FLV video formats, and does JPEG and BMP images and TXT documents. It has a 2.6-inch, 262,000-color QVGA TFT touchscreen with a 320×240-pixel resolution, an FM radio that supports recording. A USB 2.0 and a miniSD slot that allows 2GB cards are built-in, as is a speaker. Memory comes in 1GB, 2GB and 4GB capacities.
