Mister Disc, in short, is a portable or at least luggable vinyl player. It would’ve been a hit like iPod is today and made Audio-Technica the Apple of its time. It never happened for Audio-Technica. The problem was that though Mister Disc was portable, you can only play it if you lay it down on a stable surface, or your vinyl will scratch. Owning a Mister Disc would be like owning an iPod made of porcelain… Only in an alternate reality.
