Announced in November of last year, the futuristic InfoBar2 phone designed by KDDI Design Studio has become official. It’s a miracle of patient development for the manufacturer, and on quick inspection they have not changed the concept at all. Besides the retro-futuristic design, the most remarkable feature is the tile-like light magnesium alloy casing. It looks like it will feel absolutely wonderful in the hands. On that thought, KDDI has another concept waiting to be released, Media Skin, which will feel nicer than any cellphone material you’ve ever handled.

Other features of InfoBar2 include a One-Seg (1SEG) TV tuner, a 2.0 megapixel (almost) camera with autofocus, HTML browser and GPS. The screen is a 2.6inch 240×400 OLED. It operates on CDMA and EvDo and Felicia, an electronic money software, is built-in. No pricing but Japanese consumers will get the InfoBar 2 in November.

More tasty pictures after the break.
