We haven’t heard from iRiver in a while. Thankfully, Siren, its subsidiary, has a new and rather interesting PMP to offer us. The Siren DP350 is not as thick as the recent releases from the two leading PMP brands, Apple and Microsoft but it does have a nice brushed metal backing. Its brick-like form-factor (73.2×41×14.6mm) should feel solid in your hands, although it makes you wonder whether iRiver couldn’t make use of the 14mm area more besides putting a bunch of unknown buttons there. A mini-optical drive would be nice. The DP350 has a 1.8-inch 128 × 160-pixel LCD screen and supports MPEG-4 (AVI), WMV, MP3, WMA, WM DRM10, WAV, AAC, OGG, JPEG and BMP. It has a built-in FM tuner and a USB 2.0 port. The battery lasts 5 hours when you play videos and 18 hours when it is music.

The Siren DP350 is available in black and off-white. The 2GB model is priced at 13,800 Yen ($118) while the 4GB model at 17,800 Yen ($153), very competitive for the Japanese market.
