Mozilla is planning to launch a mobile Firefox browser. The mobile platform will be high priority in future developments of Firefox. The version being planned will support extensions and third-party applications via XUL. The announcement was made by Mozilla’s VP of Engineering, Mike Schroepfer. The reason for the hastened approach to a unwatered-down Internet experience through Firefox is that cellphones are currently beginning to have the capability for users to enjoy what Firefox has to offer. Right now, you can have the mobile Firefox experience (or something like it) on the Nokia N800 and ARM, the processor maker, has made Firefox a development consideration.
