A study done by Research and Markets based on in-factory tours says that China accounts for 30% of the world’s supply of portable media players. Not only that but this year, Chinese manufacturers intend to hike up production by 20%. They’re currently working on feature-rich, competitively-priced PMPs to secure a bigger share of this rapidly growing market.
The report talks about which manufacturers specialize in hard disk PMPs and flash disk PMPs, how features influence pricing, which manufacturers plan in-production and R&D, and which IC solutions makers use in their PMPs. Besides that, there are in-depth profile tables for 28 manufacturers with details on their manufacturing capability, R&D direction, and popular export models. There are also profile tables of 18 other makers that highlights key sourcing information, which includes company background, target markets, and R&D focus. The results of the latest supplier survey is also there, predicting price, product, production and R&D trends for the next year.
A supplier contact table is available towards the end of the report, and it lists down phone numbers, e-mail addresses, and websites of every company featured. There is also a detailed list of 134 best-selling export models, with full-color images and specifications. This information can’t be found anywhere else since the data are based on factory visits and personal interviews. I think it is funny how the Korean and Asian companies make ad that emphasize the girls rather than truly showing the true product… i mean are you trying to selling PMP / Phone or a girl? Sex sells i know, but why not have just ONE that looks really good and that accentuates your product?
