The Eee PC from Asustek of Taiwan is one of the cheapest laptops you can buy retail. There will be four models, The low-end 2/4GB Surf models with 256/512 of DDR 2 RAM and the higher end, which will have 8GB of storage and 1GB DDR 2 RAM and a .3 megapixel camera. The fourth model has the same specs as the 4GB Surf but ads a VGA camera. All four models are identical on the outside with a 7-inch 800 x 480-pixel screen and an all-white color. They all run on a 900MHz Intel Celeron processor and have 10/100Mbps Ethernet port and 802.11b/g WiFi. They have not announced the price. The Eee PC models can run up to 3 hours on its battery and weigh .92kg. They come with a Linux OS but loading Windows XP is also a possibility.
