Citizen journalists will be given a leg up in their endeavors to inform the public by the new partnership of Nokia and Reuters. The result is a mobile application that will allow safe filing of photos and videos with text stories and publishing anywhere in the world. The application will not take up too much bits, it’s also easy to use and is equipped to handle multiple media including photos, videos and audio. In other words, citizen journalists will have a portable publishing studio right in their hands. Professional journalists has been the first people to use the application (samples available from this site) but wider distribution will be available soon. We’re assuming Nseries phones with their multimedia features and smartphone capabilities are the ideal devices for the app.
