Now, we’ve seen clones in almost every form, as well as a whole host of products “inspired” by previous designs. Still, it isn’t every day that we get to see reproductions as faithful as the Super MP4 Player X9 from Honcon. The two extra buttons aside, it looks exactly like Nintendo’s Game Boy Micro, and the company-supplied image just rubs that in.
Anyway, the Super MP4 Player X9 does MPEG-4 videos (naturally) and MP3 audio files, and has image display, audio recording and e-book functionality. Since it comes without internal memory, you’ll have to use the built-in SD card slot or USB port to get anything done. And, yes, it plays games. TV games, actually. We have no idea what that means, but hopefully it includes support for 8-bit FC/NES, or Game Boy/Game Boy Color games.
