We’ve been awaiting the shipping of the Asus Eee PC since we’ve heard about it. What’s not to like? Ultraportable, flash storage, easy to use and cheap. We’ve been needing a small laptop (not necessarily the 7 incher that is the Eee PC) that connect without fuss to the Internet with an on board word processor and a few other goodies. The Eee PC has what we need and now here comes Laptop Magazine telling us we are right.

As the reviewer points out, there may be a regular-size laptop with the same internal specs and in the same price range as the Eee PC, but the Eee PC still takes the advantage: “It’s ten times simpler to use than any Windows machine, starts up twice as fast (no crapware!), and is only about a fifth of the cost of other systems in its weight class. It’s a little rough around the edges, but the Eee PC is a remarkably versatile machine for the price.”

Summarized, the winning points of the Asus Eee PC are as follows:

  • The interface is new and so user-friendly even kids and grand dads could use it.
  • Size is perfect for taking with you everywhere, not least the 7-inch 800 x 480-pixel LCD
  • Solidly built with all the necessary features like an SD card slot, 2 USB ports, an extra USB, Ethernet, mic and headphone jack.
  • Apps are not sacrificed for size: you’ll have Firefox web browser, instant messaging softwares and Skype. Educational games for kids also included.
