First Zune 2 Ad Reminiscent of Zune Art

Fri, Nov 2, 2007

Microsoft, Zune

The first Zune 2 ad campaign has kicked in and it’s a beauty - not sexy like the new iPod Touch ad, but a real beauty, and it reminds me of another series of Zune campaigns or rather the Zune-Art series, not the tattoo guy, but this one and especially this one. And oh, the new tagline is “You Make it You,” “so “Welcome to the Social” is out. Microsoft has always used sentimentality to promote the Zune. We wonder how many people buy sentimentality, because we certainly buy this one.

Ad Details: the music is “Lake Michigan” from Rogue Wave Band’s album “Asleep at Heaven’s Gate.” The ad was produced by T.A.G., a division of McCann Worldgroup SF. Apparently, Microsoft was satisfied by the recent Halo 3 campaign, which the agency did for them.
