We’ve covered some pretty impressive Chinese gadgets, but very few come close to TechFaith’s Twins. Twins supports both WCDMA and GSM SIM cards. You can use either one or both, Having dual SIMs is a great boon for people that are always in-between continents. The phone itself has a sleek design and looks highly usable, even in today’s fashion-conscious mobile crowd. Feature-wise, it’s up to par with most big-name brands: touchscreen UI, 3G, 2 megapixel camera, A2DP Bluetooth. Two versions are available, Dragonfly and OMAP. OMAP has the faster CPU and should be the version of choice for heavy Windows Mobile 6 users, which Twins run. Price still unannounced, but if it’s made in China it must be cheaper than Western brands of similar features.
Update: Apparently, the phone doesn’t work on CDMA channels at all but uses WCDMA technology for 3G.
