Tsinghua Tongfang Goes Crazy on PMC-V800 Interface
6 11 2007We’ve earlier featured the PMC-V800 PMP from Tsinghua Tongfang, which plays FLV and SWF videos, besides playing several (MP3, WMA and WAV) music files and NES and GBC games. One thing we haven’t told you is the built-in karaoke machine, which you whip out in Karaoke bars and most likely syn with their mic and speakers. Even more interesting is the simple user interface that resembles the iPhone and iPod Touch widgets. Inside the colored squres are Chinese characters, not the elaborate designs in Apple widgets, which brings us to the cost: 1 GB for 599 yuan ($80), 2 GB 699 yuan ($94). Even with the US dollar going down, it’s still pretty cheap. Besides black, it also comes in white (pic after the break).
Editor: the PMC-V800 doesn’t support RealMedia and was an error on the writer’s part (these lazy bloggers), but if I may only add to the specs alreay mentioned here and on a past post, the V800 also supports maps. What kind of maps and where you download these maps, we’ll find out in a future time. Of course, there’s the ubiquitous FM tuner, txt support, SD memory extension and OTG.
